FAAC Report

Recent ACTU Activities

The Anti-corruption and Transparency Unit of Federal Ministry of Finance in further attempt to fight against corruption has recently placed boxes at strategic locations on each floor in the Ministry, to enable staff from different departments/units write to either complain about perceived acts of corruptions or suggestions to curb such. This is to ensure that the policy of transparency and accountability permeates down as a means of fighting corruption in this Country.

This Unit, which also serves as enlightenment outfit among others, in collaboration with resource people from Code of Conduct Bureau organised a workshop on Friday, 5th August, 2011 for the staff of the Ministry to create awareness for transparency and to mobilize staff on the critical need to combat corruption. The workshop was very interactive, as questions were asked by staff that relate to asset declaration and refusal to comply. The resource persons took time to explain the filling of the Forms and answered all questions that were posed to them.

Consequently, Form CCBI-Assets Declaration for Public Officers from the Code of Conduct were distributed to staff and they were guided to fill them. Some staff were however privileged to return their own Forms that same day to the representatives of Code of Conduct Bureau for onward submission to their Office.
